In 1951, Frank Zappa's family moved to Monterey, California, for eight months. Then they removed to Pacific Grove, living there between 1951 and 1954. In 1953, Zappa moved to Claremont, where he first met Vic Mortenson. A year later, the family moved again, this time to El Cajon, east of San Diego.[1] In 1955-1956, they lived in Clairemont (not to be confused with Claremont). Between 1956 and 1959, the Zappa were settled in Lancaster, moving back to Claremont in 1959.

In 1960, Zappa and his wife, Kaye Sherman, moved to Ontario. He lived there until 1964, moving into his studio, Studio Z, in Cucamonga [2]. After Zappa was arrested and jailed in 1965, he moved to Echo Park in Los Angeles, removing to Formosa Avenue at Sunset Boulevard in L.A. the same year. [3].

Between 1966 and 1967, Zappa lived at Kirkwood Drive in Laurel Canyon in Los Angeles, where Gail Zappa moved in with him. [4]. After a stay in New York (1967-1968), [5].Zappa moved to The Log Cabin (May-September 1968), until finally settling at 7885 Woodrow Wilson Drive in the Hollywood Hills, L.A., where he would lived until his death in 1993.
