Background Information
Captain Beefheart is the alias of Don van Vliet, seen on the right of the cover photo. The photo has been flipped, left to right, evidenced by the sign above FZ's head which reads "Chocolate Sundae" backwards. On the wider 'zoom-out' image of the Australian cover this is more apparent, but can also be seen at the overlap on the back of other vinyl issues. The John French book (Beefheart: Through The Eyes Of Magic; p10) suggests this photo was taken at 'Fosters Freeze' in Lancaster.
The tracks Sam With The Showing Scalp Flat Top and Man With The Woman Head were written by Don van Vliet ©1973 Beefheart Music, BMI.
