Release Notes
This edition regroups Joe's Garage Act I and Joe's Garage Acts II & III. However the tracks distribution was reconsidered across the discs, so CD 1 tracks are not these from Act I...
1995 CDs are remastered and tracks 1.5 & 1.6 are retitled "Fembot In A Wet T-Shirt" & On The Bus. Track 9 is an additional track Scrutinizer Postlude, making a total of 19 tracks. (Previous CDs having only 18 tracks). The 1987 UK 2xCD issue (CDFZ1 / CDS 7-90087-2), has three incorrect titles; "A Token Of His Extreme", "Doing Work For Yuda" & "Keep It Greasy".

Kevin Murphy and Dan Studney wrote a musical based on the 1938 cult classic "Reefer Madness". They claim they were inspired to do so while listening to Zappa's Joe's Garage album during a car trip: ""Joe’s Garage" was like Zappa’s attempt at a musical", said Studney, "and I was thinking I’d love to stage it. Then there was some line about reefer or anti-authority or whatever, and I said to Kevin, ‘How come nobody’s ever done "Reefer Madness" as a musical?’"
The German comic strip artist Wittek drew a comic strip album based on Zappa's Joe's Garage album. Each track was illustrated in collage art, similar to the art work inside "Joe's Garage" itself.
