Background Information

In September 1979, Zappa received a golden record by the Canadian Recording Registry, after Sheik Yerbouti had sold over 50,000 copies. This framed golden record was auctioned in 2016, after Zappa's former home in 7885 Woodrow Wilson Drive was sold. ^[4]

Zappa also received a golden record regarding the sales of Sheik Yerbouti in Germany, which he kept in a frame. This framed golden record was also auctioned in 2016, after Zappa's former home in 7885 Woodrow Wilson Drive was sold. ^[5]
