Burt Bacharach
Burt Bacharach (May 12, 1929 - February 18, 2023) was an American composer, songwriter, pianist and record producer. Together with Hal David, he wrote numerous hit songs for musicians as varied as Cilla Black, Richard Carpenter, Christopher Cross, Jackie DeShannon, Gene Pitney, Marty Robbins, Dusty Springfield and Dionne Warwick.
His best-known songs are The Story Of My Life (1957), Baby, It's You (1961), The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance (1962), (They Long to Be) Close to You (1963), Walk On By (1964), What the World Needs Now Is Love (1965), What's New Pussycat (1965), My Little Red Book (1965), The Look of Love (1967), I Say a Little Prayer (1967), Do You Know the Way to San Jose? (1968), Raindrops Keep Falling On My Head (1969), I'll Never Fall In Love Again (1969) and Arthur's Theme (1981).
Earle Dumler once performed and recorded with Bacharach.
