Johnny Cash (b. John R. Cash 26 February 1932 Kingsland, AR - d. 12 October 2003 Nashville, TN) was an American country musician and one of the most influential country singers. He had a very distinct style and voice. Cash championed Bob Dylan.[1] He sang his country songs, as well as rock covers (at least later in life) such as "Rusty Cage" by Soundgarden.

Johnny Cash and Zappa

He was supposed to perform Ring Of Fire with Zappa, as heard on The Best Band You Never Heard In Your Life album, however his wife was sick and he could not make the show. Mike Keneally would sometimes parody his voice on songs.
