Jean Solé is a French comics artist born 2 April 1948 who founded magazine Fluide Glacial with Marcel Gotlib and other artists in 1975.
In the early years of Fluide Glacial, with Marcel Gotlib and Alain Dister, he published a comic strip parody based on Stink-Foot depicting a caricature of Frank Zappa[1].
Around 1984, bootleggers reused the caricature to do the cover artwork for 'Tis The Season To Be Jelly.
Starting from 2003, Solé did cover artworks for the Zappa biographies by Christophe Delbrouck:
- Frank Zappa & les mères de l'invention (2003)
- Frank Zappa & la dînette de chrome (2005)
- Frank Zappa & l'Amérique parfaite (2006)
