• Josephine Baker (3 June 1906 - 12 April 1975) was an American-born French singer, dancer, and actress.
• Lon Chaney (April 1, 1883 – August 26, 1930) was an American film actor. He is depicted both as Quasimodo from The Hunchback of Notre Dame and from London After Midnight.

Chaney can also be seen on the album cover of We're Only In It For The Money.

• A scene from the 1932 film Freaks which Zappa cited as one of his Favorite Films.
• Harold Lloyd (1893-1971) was a silent-film comedian, director, and actor.
• Warner Oland was a Swedish film actor who became world famous for his portrayal of detective Charlie Chan in the 1930s. Zappa's quote, "The mind is like a parachute. It cannot function when it's not open.", was uttered decades earlier by Oland in "Charlie Chan at the Circus" (1936).
• Vincent Price (1911-1993) was a British actor, best known for acting in many horror films.
