Lew Irwin
Lew Irwin is an American journalist, who reported for KABC-TV (1957-1962) and was news director of the radio stations KPOL, KRLA, KDAY and KNX-FM in Los Angeles.
At KRLA, he hosted and acted in The Credibility Gap, a 15-minute satirical news segment. The Credibility Gap also performed on stage and released the comedy album An Album of Political Pornography (1968). The original members of The Credibility Gap were Irwin, John Gilliand, Thom Beck, Richard Beebe and Len Chandler. In 1969, Irwin left. From 1971 on, David L. Lander, Michael McKean and Harry Shearer (famous for his roles in Spinal Tap and as the voice of Mr. Burns in The Simpsons) joined the group.[1]
Later in his career, Irwin also wrote biographies about Frank Sinatra and became publisher/editor of Studio Briefing, an entertainment industry newsletter. Irwin was also was producer and voice of the syndicated radio program "Earth News".
