Jerry Ullberg was an English teacher at Antelope Valley High School, who was a friend of colleague Don Cerveris.

Ullberg contributed his voice to a track called The Search For Tom Dooley, recorded at the school at the same time as the Lost In A Whirlpool recording.

"...the voice is played by one of the school teachers named Jerry Ullberg, who has a very nice white suburban sort of voice."

Interview with Barry Miles 1970

Frank Zappa mentions Jerry Ullberg (misspelled as Jerry Allberg) in the sleeve of Freak Out! (1966), under the heading "These People Have Contributed Materially In Many Ways To Make Our Music What It Is. Please Do Not Hold It Against Them".[1]
