Queen Of Outer Space
Queen Of Outer Space is a 1958 science fiction B-movie, directed by Edward Bernds. It stars Zsa Zsa Gabor, Eric Fleming and Laurie Mitchell and Lisa Davis.
The plot revolves around a space crew who land on the planet Venus, where an evil queen rules over an army of nothing but female warriors. There is also a giant spider in one scene.
Frank Zappa
The line "The botchino... the botchino" from Frank Zappa's The Radio Is Broken is lifted straight from Queen Of Outer Space. Zappa also mentions "the lovely Lisa Kranston (or Cranston)". While there is no such character or actress in the film, there is an actress named Lisa Davis in Queen Of Outer Space. [1]
When Frank Zappa proposed to the crew of Mystery Science Theater 3000 to film his own science fiction B-movie script Hunchentoot, he compared it to Queen Of Outer Space, since it also has an extraterrestrial queen in it. [2]
Also note that in 1966, Zappa performed, arranged and produced a single, Space Boy, sung by actress Florence Marly, intended for a science fiction horror film, Queen of Blood, also starring an queen from outer space.
