Lyrics
I say WPLJ, really taste good to me
WPLJ, won't you take a drink with me
Well, it's a good good wine
It really make you feel so fine
(So fine, so fine, so fine)
I went to the store when they opened up the door
I said: "Please please please gimme some more"
White Port & Lemon Juice,
White Port & Lemon Juice,
White Port & Lemon Juice,
Ooh what it do to you!
You take the bottle, you take the can
Shake it up fine, you get a good good wine.

Notes About This Song
“W-P-L-J” was originally recorded by The 4 Deuces (Music City 790, 1955); The B-side, Here Lies Love, was also covered by the Mothers. FZ sings lead with Lowell George. Roy Estrada’s Spanish ad-libs at the end of “WPLJ” include, when translated, the advice to Motorhead (who’s yelling replies in the background) that getting a girl buzzed on the drink might make him “more attractive to fuck.”
A different song "White Port And Lemon Juice" was recorded by The Bel-Aires; and The Feathers mention the drink on "Shake 'Em Up" the B side of Johnny Darling.
