Joe De Santis (15 June 1909 - 30 August 1989) was an American actor, often typecast as tough guys. He played a recurring role in the TV series The Untouchables as Louis Latito.
De Santis was also active as a sculptor. He often came to Vito Paulekas' sculpting studio. [1]
Zappa mentioned De Santis in his list of influences inside the album sleeve of Freak Out! (1966), under the heading: "These People Have Contributed Materially In Many Ways To Make Our Music What It Is. Please Do Not Hold It Against Them", though misspelled as "Frank De Cova". Other actors from The Untouchables are also mentioned in this same list: Frank De Cova, Bruce Gordon and Herman Rudin.
