Ringo Starr (Liverpool, United Kingdom, July 7, 1940) is a British rock musician, most famous as the drummer of The Beatles. After the band split up in 1970 he started a solo career.
Zappa
He played Larry The Dwarf in 200 Motels (1971). His driver Martin Lickert plays Jeff Simmons in the same film. Ringo and Lickert consequently also appear in behind-the-scenes footage in Video From Hell, The True Story Of 200 Motels and Peefeeyatko.
In Richard Emmet's article My Time With Frank Zappa, by Richard Emmet he wrote about visiting Zappa in his home in the spring of 1978: "Frank was a man who spoke succinctly. He gave me directions to his house, which was nestled in the winding hills of Laurel Canyon, and said, "Bye." So I drove to his house. (I discovered later that Ringo Starr lived on the same street.)".
Ringo Starr was mentioned and thanked in the liner notes of The MOFO Project/Object (2006) album. [1]

Ringo Starr about Zappa
"Naturally, I, like everyone else, thought Frank was a real weirdo, but when you get to know him, he isn't. He's probably one of the straightest men I've ever met." - Ringo Starr, interviewed by Brian Mewborn for Rolling Stone, 30 April 1981. [2]
