Pee-Wee Herman is the stage name of actor and comedian Paul Reubens (1952-2023). Playing this character since 1977, Pee-Wee Herman received larger stardom by the mid-1980s after starring in the film Pee-Wee's Big Adventure (1985), directed by Tim Burton, and as host of the children's TV series Pee-Wee's Playhouse (1986-1990).
