Tomorrow (The Band)
Tomorrow was a British psychedelic band, who were active during the 1960s. The members were Keith West (vocals), Steve Howe (guitar), John "Junior" Wood (bass) and John "Twink" Alder (drums). They're best remembered for the track "My White Bicycle" (1967).
West, Howe, Ronnie Wood later tried to form a band with Aynsley Dunbar.
Frank Zappa
During "Star Special",, when Frank Zappa was a guest DJ on BBC Radio 1 in 1980, he played Tomorrow's song "My White Bicycle".
Tomorrow were fans of Zappa too, particularly his album Absolutely Free, although Steve Howe misremembered it as Zappa's debut. They also met once: "Tomorrow managed to meet one of our heroes, the great writer and guitarist Frank Zappa. Twink brought him back to his flat in Eden Grove where Keith and I waited patiently. He told me that my guitar solo on "Claremount Lake," the B-side of "My White Bicycle," was one of the best he'd heard. I was knocked out, to say the least. We talked about his band and how we loved Absolutely Free, the first Mothers Of Invention album, and all his playing and writing. He was very influential and attitudinal. He used the wah-wah cleverly, like a decoy sound that lurked until he stepped on it, when it burst into life—some weird mish-mash of rhythmic wizardry only happened when he performed." [1]
