Teddy Bears' Picnic is a 1907 children's song, written and composed by John Walter Bratton, with lyrics by Jimmy Jennedy. Various recordings have been made over the decades, among others by Henry Hall in 1932.

Frank Zappa

Zappa quoted Teddy Bears' Picnic during a performance of the Absolutely Free medley in 1968 at Tivoli Gardens, Copenhagen, Denmark and again in 1969 , during a concert in Lawrence University at Appleton, Wisconsin. [1]

In 1988, he also quoted it during a performance of Planet Of The Baritone Women in Upper Darby, Pennsylvania and during Stairway To Heaven, performed in Towson, Maryland. [2]

At the end of Stairway To Heaven, as performed on The Best Band You Never Heard In Your Life, Zappa also closes off by quoting from Teddy Bears' Picnic. [3]
