Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky (May 7, 1840 – November 6, 1893) was a world famous Russian composer, mostly of ballets. He is best known for the compositions Romeo & Juliet (1870), First Piano Concerto (1875), Swan Lake (1877), Serenade For Strings (1881), Violin Concerto (1881), 1812 Overture (1882), Sleeping Beauty (1890) and The Nutcracker Suite (1892).
