Nurse with Wound
Nurse with Wound was originally a British avant-garde band led by Steven Stapleton (b. February 3, 1957), John Fothergill and Heman Pathak. Active since 1978, Stapleton went solo in 1981 using the same name. Nurse With Wound made several experimental albums, marked by industrial music, musique concrète and surreal lyrics
Frank Zappa
Steven Stapleton has stated that Frank Zappa's Lumpy Gravy was the album that had the "most profound influence on him". [1]
On Nurse with Wound's debut album, Chance Meeting on a Dissecting Table of a Sewing Machine and an Umbrella (1979), the group made a long list of more than 291 musicians who influenced them. It was inspired by the influences list on Frank Zappa's Freak Out! (1966) album. [2] Captain Beefheart, The Mothers Of Invention and Frank Zappa are also included in Nurse with Wound's list. [3][4]
On their album Second Private Session (1998), Nurse with Wound covered Trouble Every Day, of which two additional and different takes exist. [5]
