KTTV, Channel 11 in Los Angeles, CA, is one of several US television stations owned and operated by News Corporation, and is the West Coast flagship station of the Fox Television Network.

Though originally owned by CBS and the Los Angeles Times, KTTV became one of the most successful independent stations in the US. Throughout most of its history as an independent, KTTV became one of the most-watched stations in the country, thanks to a translator network throughout the Southwest.

In 1986, KTTV (along with several Metromedia-owned stations) became charter Fox affiliates, as KTTV remains today

Today, KTTV (as well as its New York sister station, WNYW) can be seen via DirecTV and Dish Network satellites in many parts of the United States.

In 1966, FZ appeared on the KTTV-produced Joe Pyne Show. In addition, KTTV is referenced in the song Billy The Mountain.
