Harry Andronis
Harry Andronis (February 4, 1956 - December 27, 2010) was an American audio engineer and sound mixer. Early in his career, he worked for Supertramp, Jean-Luc Ponty and Earl Slick. Andronis was also sound designer, supervisor and re-recording mixer for the TV series Animaniacs, Pinky and the Brain, Freakazoid, Ren And Stimpy, Batman: The Animated Series and The X-Files.
Frank Zappa
Andronis became a Zappa fan at age 13, after listening to Hot Rats: "I thought it was brilliant. I was always moved by what was happening in the tracks sonically and musicallyjust the sound of different instruments, and he used weird ones-bass clarinets and xylophones. It was almost like Spike Jones, only it wasn't hysterical." He also attended many Zappa concerts since 1973, despite the fact that "I was never terribly impressed by the sound."[1]
In 1988, Andronis was hired by Frank Zappa. He and Bob Stone were engineers on the album Broadway The Hard Way. [2]
Andronis also was the audio engineer for the The Yellow Shark concert with the Ensemble Modern.
As a sound mixer on Ren And Stimpy Andronis brought Zappa in touch with the show’s creator, John Kricfalusi, who also was a huge Zappa fan. This led to Zappa's special guest voice appearance in the episode Powdered Toast Man.
Harry Andronis is also mentioned and thanked in the liner notes of The MOFO Project/Object (2006) album. [3]
