Hans Annellsson.

Hans Annellsson (October 7, 1957) is a Swedish composer, guitarist and musical educator. In the 1970s, he played in a band called Press, who changed their names in Mobile, then Mob and finally Savoy. In 1985, he went solo. Together with John Tobacco, he forms the band The Vegetarians.

Frank Zappa

In 1993, shortly before Zappa's death, Annellsson asked and received permission to cover Frank Zappa's Penis Dimension in Swedish, under the title Penisens Storlek on his album Tra-la-Larsson (1993). The album also features covers of Oh No and The Black Page. [1]

Annellsson's band The Vegetarians played at the Zappanale concert in 2011. [2] They also collaborated with Napoleon Murphy Brock and Mats Öberg on the track Amnerika from the album Let's Have A Good Time (2016). They covered Touch Me There on the compilation album Lost Meat (2019). [3] A cover of The Torture Never Stops by Annellsson and The Vegetarians can be heard on the compilation album ZappaRap (2024). [4]

In 2013, Annellsson recorded the single En Kvinna i Gränna, with Mats Öberg. He also produced Öberg's Zappa cover album Frankful (2020).

He is interviewed in Frank Zappa - The Nordic Stories (2020). In 2026, he also released the album Sinister Footwear, based on Zappa's Sinister Footwear performance in Berkeley, California (June 1984), which had never been released on CD before. [5]

In 2025, he released the album Frank Zappa For Prepared Piano, featuring covers of Zappa music for prepared piano. [6]
