David Anderle and Frank Zappa
As a producer at A&R at MGM Records, owner of the Verve Records label, Anderle convinced the label in 1965 to sign Frank Zappa and the Mothers of Invention. During the sessions of their debut album Freak Out!, Anderle provided violin parts. He also told Zappa: "I find your approach to music to be commensurate with the major motivational forces exemplified most manifestly in the 'tragicomic' aspects of the 'theatre of the absurd'". Zappa included this citation in the sleeve of Freak Out!, under the heading "Relevant Quotes". He also added Anderle's name under the heading "These People Have Contributed Materially In Many Ways To Make Our Music What It Is. Please Do Not Hold It Against Them".
David Anderle was additionally mentioned and thanked in the liner notes of The MOFO Project/Object (Fazedooh) (2006) album. [1]
