Chris Riess is a writer and well known fan of Zappa's music.
The 15-year old Riess checked out Freak Out! in 2003, after seeing it mentioned in Rolling Stone's list of the 500 Greatest Albums. He instantly got hooked on Zappa's music, being specifically intrigued by the use of a kazoo on the opening tracks.
Only three years later he was already allowed to write the liner notes to The MOFO Project/Object (Deluxe Edition) and The MOFO Project/Object (2006). He was mentioned and thanked by Gail Zappa in the liner notes of The MOFO Project/Object (2006) album.
