Avedis Zildjian was an Armenian/Turkish metalsmith and alchemist who founded the Zildjian percussion company in 1623. It's one of the oldest private family run companies in the world. They are best-known for their cymbals.
They produce a Vinnie Colaiuta drumstick in their Artist Series of sticks.
Avedis Zildjian is included in the sleeve of Freak Out! (1966), under the heading: "These People Have Contributed Materially In Many Ways To Make Our Music What It Is. Please Do Not Hold It Against Them".
