Aretha Louise Franklin (March 25, 1942 - August 16, 2018) was an American soul, R&B, and gospel singer, songwriter, and pianist. She scored many hits throughout her career, earning the honorary nickname "The Queen of Soul", or "Lady Soul". Among her best-known songs are I Never Loved a Man (The Way I Love You) (1967), Respect (1967), (You Make Me Feel Like) A Natural Woman (1967), Chain of Fools (1967), Think (1968), I Say A Little Prayer (1968) and Spanish Harlem (1971).
