Lynyrd Skynyrd are an American Southern Rock band, who are best known for their songs "Sweet Home Alabama" (1974) and "Free Bird" (1974) . Their career was cut short by a tragic plane crash in 1977, in which three band members lost their lives. Surviving members reunited in 1987 and the band has been full-time again since 1991.
