The Best Of Muddy Waters is a 1958 compilation album by blues musician Muddy Waters, released on Chess Records. It compiles five songs originally released as singles, among them the hits "I Just Want to Make Love to You", "Long Distance Call", "Louisiana Blues", "Rollin' Stone", "I'm Ready", "Hoochie Coochie (Man)" and "I Can't Be Satisfied". It was the first full-length album by Waters.

Zappa named the first Muddy Waters album as one of his favorite records in Faves, Raves And Composers In Their Graves, June 1975: "Because it's wonderful".

When Frank Zappa was a guest DJ at the Dr. Demento Show in December 1973 he played Waters' songs "Louisiana Blues", "I Can't Be Satisfied" and "I'm Your Hoochie Coochie Man". As a guest DJ on Musik Für Junge Leute on 16 September 1974 he played Muddy Waters' song "I'm Your Hoochie Coochie Man". When Zappa was guest DJ on radio station WSTM, Chicago on 21 November 1974 he played Waters' song "Rolling Stone".

Zappa and Captain Beefheart covered "Louisiana Blues" during An Evening With Frank Zappa & Captain Beefheart.
