Jan Garber (1894-1977) was an American Jazz composer and violinist.
In the section "How Did They Manage To Do That" in the chapter "All About Music" in The Real Frank Zappa Book, FZ cites "Jan Garber-ism" as an example of an American Archetypal Icon Module, certain techniques that evoke familiar sounds and which put new twists on the lyrics.
