Theodore Sturgeon.

Theodore Sturgeon (26 February 1918 - 8 May 1985) was an American science fiction author, best known for his novels "Microcosmic God" (1941) and "More Than Human" (1953). He also wrote eleven scripts for the TV series Star Trek: The Original Series.

He also formulated Sturgeon's Law: "Ninety percent of [science fiction] is crud, but then, ninety percent of everything is crud."
