Laurel Canyon is a canyon neighborhood in Los Angeles, not far from Mulholland Drive and an important transit corridor between West Hollywood and the San Fernando Valley.

Between 1966 and 1967, Zappa lived at Kirkwood Drive in Laurel Canyon in Los Angeles, where Gail Zappa moved in with him. [1]. After a stay in New York (1967-1968), [2].Zappa moved to The Log Cabin, also in the Laurel Canyon (May-September 1968). Afterwards, he moved to 7885 Woodrow Wilson Drive.

In Data For Sensitive or Critical-sensitive Position Zappa named Laurel Canyon his "favorite place". Interviewed for Discoscene (February 1968), he also named Laurel Canyon the place he would like to live. [3].
