Jerry Leiber (April 15, 1933 - August 22, 2011) and Mike Stoller (b. March 13, 1933) were an American songwriter and composer duo. Leiber wrote songs, while Stoller composed music. In the 1950s, they wrote many hits for doo-wop, pop and rock 'n' roll musicians, including Riot In Cell Block No. 9 (The Robins, sang by an uncredited Richard Berry), Kansas City, Hound Dog for Willie Mae Thornton and many songs for the Coasters, Elvis Presley, Ben E. King, Peggy Lee and Stealers's Wheel.[1]
