Chrissie Hynde (September 7, 1951) is an American rock singer, best known as a singer, vocalist, pianist and drummer for the band The Pretenders.

When interviewed by Dave Itzkoff in The New York Times on June 11, 2014 the reporter asked her if the induction of the band felt like a legitimization? Hynde said: "Some artists buy into it. On September 9, 2015 Hynde appeared on the Sunday morning show on CBS, wearing a Freak Out! shirt. She also wore the same shirt while being interviewed on the Conan O'Brien show. [4]
