Tony Palmer (August 29, 1941) was the director of Frank Zappas movie "200 Motels". He has additionally directed several other films and concert performances in the world of rock, theatre and opera. Between 1967 and 1974 he was a music critic for The Observer and between 1969 and 1974 he had a weekly column, Notes From The Underground, in The Spectator.
