Björk
Björk (November 21, 1965) is an influential Icelandic avant-garde pop/rock singer and composer. She already performed in bands like Tappi Tikarrass, Kukl and The Sugarcubes throughout the 1980s, before going solo. In the 1990s, she managed to appeal to both alternative rock fans and regular pop fans with hit songs like Human Behaviour, Venus As A Boy , Big Time Sensuality (1993), Army of Me, It's Oh So Quiet, Hyperballad, Isobel (1995), Hunter, Jóga, Bachelorette, All Is Full Of Love (1997), Hidden Place and Pagan Poetry (2000). Björk also had a starring role in Lars von Trier's Dancer in the Dark (2000). She has continued to release experimental albums since.
Frank Zappa
Interviewed by Q Magazine in 1993, Björk said: ""When I was about 10, I listened a lot with my dad, to what he was getting into, like Frank Zappa, who I used to think was a dirty old man, but then got to appreciate a couple of years later, stuff like Don't Eat The Yellow Snow, which I found hilarious, that someone peed in the snow and that someone else was meant to eat it."
