Arne Nordheim (June 20, 1931 - June 5, 2010) was a Norwegian composer. He wrote electronic compositions, like Canzona per Orchestra (1961) and Epitaffio per Orchestra e Nastro Magnetico (1963).
Frank Zappa
Frank Zappa was very interested in Nordheim's work. In 1973, during a press conference in Copenhagen, Denmark, he said that he wanted to meet Nordheim when he visited the Norwegian capital Oslo. This increased Nordheim's fame and they indeed met. Whenever Zappa visited Oslo the following years, he always took time to meet with Nordheim in person. [1] Nordheim also attended a Frank Zappa concert. [2]
In 2014, Jono El Grande was host of a conference held in Rockheim, honoring both Zappa and Arne Nordheim.[3]
