Aloys and Alfons Kontarsky

Aloys Kontarsky (May 14, 1931 - August 22, 2017) and Alfons Kontarsky (October 9, 1932 - May 5, 2010) were German pianists who performed modern classical pieces together. They debuted in 1949 and continued for decades until Aloys suffered a stroke in 1983 and was forced into early retirement. Among the composers they played were Bela Bartok, Luciano Berio, Pierre Boulez, Mauricio Kagel, Karlheinz Stockhausen and Igor Stravinsky.
Interviewed for Discoscene (February 1968), Frank Zappa named the Kontarsky's his "favorite musician".[1].
