The Supremes
The Supremes were an American R&B girl group, who were the most succesful girl band of the 1960s, scoring Top 10 hits with songs like Where Did Our Love Go, Baby Love, Come see About Me, Stop! In the Name of Love, Back In My Arms Again (1964), I Hear a Symphony (1965), You Can't Hurry Love, You Keep Me Hangin' On, Love Is Here and Now You're Gone, The Happening (1966), Reflections, In and Out of Love (1967), Love Child, I'm Gonna Make You Love Me (1968) and Someday We'll Be Together (1969).
Its members were Florence Ballard, Diana Ross and Mary Wilson. In 1967, Ballard was fired and replaced by Cindy Birdsong. In 1969, Diana Ross embarked on a succesful solo career. Among the musicians who performed with here have been The Fowler Brothers and Preston Love. Meanwhile, The Supremes kept recording and performing until 1977, with Wilson, Birdsong and Jean Terrell as the new members.

Frank Zappa briefly referenced Baby Love during The Duke Regains His Chops.
Zappa covered Baby Love during a performance of You Didn't Try To Call Me (1967 - Stockholm) and also during the Wollman Rink concert in Central Park (3 August 1968). His cover is available on record on 'Tis The Season To Be Jelly.
