Alison Van Pelt (September 16, 1963) is an American painter, who works in a photo-realistic style, making blurry-looking oil painting portraits. She has made portrait of celebrities like William S. Burroughs, Bruce Springsteen, Georgia O'Keeffe and Frida Kahlo, but also Frank Zappa [1], Gail Zappa [2] and Diva Zappa [3],. Some of her artworks were part of the Zappa Estate [4], but have been auctioned after Gail Zappa's death.
Van Pelt was also once active as a yoga teacher (1970-1999). [5]
Van Pelt is mentioned and thanked in the liner notes of The Yellow Shark [6] (however, in the 2012 re-release of the album his name was inexplicably removed).
