David Lynch
David Lynch was an American film director, most famous for his surreal and disturbing movies that acquired him a cult following, like Eraserhead (1977), Blue Velvet (1986) and Mulholland Drive (2001). He also made more accessible movies like The Elephant Man (1980) and Dune (1984) and the strange cult TV series Twin Peaks (1990-1991). Lynch was also active as a music video director, actor, painter and comic artist.[1]
David Lynch has a cameo in Anton Corbijn's documentary Some Yo Yo Stuff (1993), about Captain Beefheart, since he was a huge fan of the musician. Lynch named Beefheart "a really great artist, and I used to listen to Trout Mask Replica all the time.". He recited Beefheart's song Pena for a Beefheart-themed show at The Knitting Factory Main Space in New York City, through a studio recording. [2]
Frank Zappa
During the "The Halloween Tradition" track during the Halloween 81 concert in 1981, Zappa at one points asks: "Is Eraserhead down here?".
In Ellen Oumano's book Movies For A Desert Isle (1987), Frank Zappa named Eraserhead one of his favorite films. [3]
