DJ Shadow (pseudonym of Joshua Paul Davis, b. 29 June 1972) is an American DJ and record producer, best-known for his inventive samples and remixes. His album Endtroducing... (1996) has been credited with popularizing sample-heavy albums.
DJ Shadow also played in the band Unkle.
Frank Zappa
On March 29, 2003, DJ Shadow made a 2 hour mix on BBC 1 Radio during a John Peel show. He used a sample from Frank Zappa's The Return Of The Son Of Monster Magnet in his mix. The show was made available as a 2 CD set through his official fanclub in a limited edition of 1000 copies, under the title Diminishing Returns Party Pak. [1] Later several bootleg copies showed up.[2]
