Nigel Leigh was a British TV producer, known as the producer of the documentary series The Late Show on BBC.

In 1993, he produced the BBC Television Tribute Late Show TV special about Frank Zappa [1] (also known as the A&E Biography), where he interviewed Frank Zappa and various band members, relatives and fans about his life and career. He also wrote the article Zappa Plays On to promote the broadcast. Parts of this interview have later also been released as tracks on the The MOFO Project/Object (Deluxe Edition) CD, like "25 Hundred Signing Fee", "Necessity", "The 'Original' Group" and "Union Scale". [2]

Simultaneously during the recordings of this documentary, Leigh and his crew also shot a documentary about Captain Beefheart which, due to The Late Show being cancelled, was only released in 1997: The Artist Formerly Known As Captain Beefheart.
