Carol Kaye

Carol Kaye was born in Everett, Washington to musician parents. She has played professionally since 1949. Initially she played with jazz groups on the nightclub circuit around Los Angeles, including a spell with Bob Neal's band backing Lenny Bruce. She switched to studio sessions in the late 1950's as they provided regular hours and income while she had a young family; joining a group of session musicians that became known as The Wrecking Crew She has worked with countless names and did much film and TV work. She provided 12-string guitar for Freak Out! and Absolutely Free.

She is featured in the 2008 documentary The Wrecking Crew.
