Claude Debussy’s "Prelude a l'Après-midi d'un faune" (1894) has been described by Pierre Boulez as "the first piece of modern music".

Zappa's track Prelude To The Afternoon Of A Sexually Aroused Gas Mask is a direct inspiration.
