Jazz keyboard player. Early adopter of electronic instruments. Influenced George Duke (who palyed on McCann's Listen Up (1995) album). Recorded for Verve Records between 1964 and 1967. Recorded acclaimed Swiss Movement (1968) album with Eddie Harris.

Played with The Mothers taking over piano from Dr. John on the Freak Out! sessions.

As a veteran played with Ernie Watts in the Soul Survivors band.
