From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia:

"Strawberry Fields Forever" is a 1967 song recorded by The Beatles. Widely considered to be one of the group's best recordings, it is also one of the defining works of the psychedelic rock genre. Although conventionally credited to both John Lennon and Paul McCartney (see Lennon/McCartney), "Strawberry Fields Forever" is known to have been composed solely by Lennon.
