Although Grand Funk Railroad had split up they reformed after FZ expressed an interest in producing them. The album was not particularly successful and they split up again.

Mentioned in Dental Hygiene Dilemma: "Get your own group together! Heavy like Grand Funk or Black Sabbath!". This song was released in 1971, five years before Zappa's collaboration with Grand Funk Railroad, which shows that he expressed interest in the group even then.
