Pekka Pohjola (January 13, 1952- November 27, 2008) was a Finnish multi-instrumentalist who became well known in the Finnish progressive rock scene during the 1970s. He was best known as an electric bass player. From 1970 to 1974 he played with the influential Finnish band Wigwam. After that he became active as a solo artist.
His music showed obvious Zappa influences. Even Zappa was impressed by his skills and asked Pohjola to join the Mothers at one point. This collaboration never became fruitful however.[1]
