Sufferers from the Nasal Growth Syndrome; far left: Pinocchio
First described by Carlo Collodi (*1826 in Florenz) in his story "Pinocchio," where the protagonist, a boy carved out of wood by Signore Gepetto, suffers from the NGS whenever he tells a lie. At the end of the story Pinocchio becomes a real boy.
