Gene & Eunice were an American R&B duo and married couple, consisting of Forest Gene Wilson (Gene Forrest) and Euncie Levy. They not only sang, but also wrote their own songs. They recorded the original version of "This Is My Story" (1954) and were the first to hit with Ko Ko Mo (I Love You So), recorded for the Combo label in late 1954.
Eunice Levy died on 26 May 2002. Gene Forrest passed away on 24 July 2003. [1]
Zappa mentioned Gene & Eunice in the sleeve of Freak Out! (1966), under the heading: "These People Have Contributed Materially In Many Ways To Make Our Music What It Is. Please Do Not Hold It Against Them".
